CHEEK AUGMENTATION
The cheeks play a significant role in supporting the overall facial structure and contributing to facial symmetry. Full, plump cheeks are a hallmark of youthfulness, as they reflect the presence of robust fat pads, collagen, and underlying bone structure. The cheeks derive their volume primarily from the bone and fat pads, which work together to shape the midface.
When performing cheek augmentation with dermal fillers, the goal is to recreate the natural contours and volume of the cheeks. Fillers can be placed in two key areas: the lateral cheek, which refers to the side where the cheekbone provides structure, and the anterior cheek, where the "apples" of the cheeks rest. Together, these areas contribute to the sought-after “heart-shaped face,” defined by prominent cheeks and a narrower jaw and chin.

Cheek augmentation serves various purposes depending on the individual and their needs.

1
Rejuvenation
As we age, the fat pads in our cheeks shrink and collagen production slows down, leading to sagging skin and a more hollow look. This can deepen smile lines and create shadows under the eyes. Cheek filler helps restore lost volume, lifting the midface and softening these areas for a more youthful, refreshed appearance. It can also be beneficial for those with facial tissue loss due to medical conditions or treatments.

2
Correcting Asymmetry
Facial asymmetry is a natural occurrence, where one side of the face may appear slightly different from the other due to lifestyle factors like sleeping positions and genetics. Using carefully placed dermal fillers, we can restore balance and create more symmetrical cheeks, improving facial harmony and proportion.

3
Enhancing Definition
In some cases, a lack of cheek definition can create a flatter midface, contributing to a rounder front profile. This may affect the perceived femininity of the face. By adding dermal filler to the cheeks, we can enhance definition, creating a more contoured, “snatched” appearance that complements the individual’s unique facial features and adds to facial attractiveness.

LONGEVITY
Cheek filler can be built up gradually, but typically lasts up to 18 months, with touch-ups extending the results even longer.
DOWNTIME
After the procedure, you may experience minimal bruising for up to 7 days and swelling that usually resolves within 1–2 weeks. This swelling is a normal response, and the filler will fully integrate into the tissues within 6 weeks, at which point the final results will be visible.
PAIN
The pain is very minimal, around 1/10. Most clients describe it as a slight scratch on the surface, with some pressure felt as the filler is injected.
